Walter Bernhard somewhere in Europe

Walter A. Bernhardt, was born in Hellertown, Pennsylvania on June 21, 1919. He was a son of the late Theodore and Mary (Dolan) Bernhardt.

During World War Two, he was amember of 1st Howitzer Section, Battery A, 908th Field Artillery Battalion, 83rd Infantry Division.

After the war, he was the owner of a rug cleaning business from the 1960s until the 1980s. Previously, he worked in the drafting department of the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Quakertown.

Walter Bernhardt, age 81, passed away on November 4, 2000, in St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ann (Lapinski) Bernhardt. At the time of his dead, he was survived by his son, Thomas of Quakertown and his sister, Helen Schriffert of Hellertown.

Walter and Ann are buried at the Union Cemetery, Hellertown, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
