Activated in 1943 from the 61st Coast Artillery Regiment, the 184th AAA Gun Battalion was a key U.S. Army anti-aircraft unit in World War II, defending London, Normandy (Omaha Beach), Cherbourg, and Antwerp (against V-1 attacks) before aiding in the 1945 German occupation. They were noted for high V-1 destruction rates.
