Biography

Roger E. Dumont was born on October 28, 1925 to George and Blanche (Caron) Dumont. Roger Dumont enlisted the service on January 28, 1944 in Portland, Maine. He was assigned to the 83rd Infantry Division, G Company, 329th Infantry Regiment on January 4, 1945 during The Battle. After a mere 11 days in combat he was seriously wounded in action near Petit-Langlire and evacuated to the hospital. Roger was in the hospital until July 1946 when he made his full recovery and was subsequently honorably discharged from the army.

After the war, he worked for many years as a Sales Representative for Metropolitan Life. Roger was united in marriage on May 15, 1954, to Cecile F. Mathieu of Lewiston, Maine. He loved and cherished going to his 83rd Division reunions, spending time with all his "buddies."

Roger E. Dumont, 90, faithful husband, loving father and grandfather, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015.
