Biography and Wartime Service
Sistilio Philip "Sam" Castelli was born January 14, 1922 in Hershey as the son of the late Ascenzio and Vivina (Vieli) Castelli. Sam was a 1939 graduate of Hershey High School. He enlisted in de US Army on October 8, 1942 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He served with the 83rd Infantry Army Division during World War Two.
He was a retired Budget Officer with over 36 years of service at the New Cumberland Army Depot. Sam Philip Castelli, 94, passed away on January 22, 2016 in the Blake Medical Center in Brandenton, Florida. He was predeceased by wives, Esther (McCord) Castelli and Ruby J. (McGuinn) Castelli.
