Biography and Wartime Service

William Edward Hammond was born on July 25, 1922 in Farmers, Kentucky. William 'Ed' Hammond entered the service on July 24, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland. At that time he was married with Margaret (?) Hammond. He joined F Company, 329th Infantry Regiment from the 92nd Replacement Battalion on January 24, 1945. He promoted to Private First Class on February 9, 1945. Ed was Lightly wounded in action and transferred to 100th Evacuation Hospital on April 6, 1945.

Willam E. Hammond died on December 8, 2014.
