Albert Rinaldi was born on August 24, 1925 in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Jennie Rinaldi. He enlisted (#33709528) the service on November 22, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and entered active service on December 13 at Fort Meade, Maryland. He served with Company K of te 329th Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division. He was wounded in the Normandy campaign and later also served during the Battle of the Bulge. He was discharged from McGuire General Hospital in Richmond, Virginia on March 4, 1946.



Afther the war, Albert Rinaldi was a graduate of the University of Richmond. Al was involved in teaching and coaching football for over 50 years and was former head coach of Highland Springs High School and was inducted into the Virginia High School Hall of Fame in 1992. In addition to being a very successful coach and teacher in the area, he was known for bringing the community together during the period of racial integration.

Albert "Al" Rinaldi passed away on April 20, 2016 after a long period of declining health and is buried at the Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Goochland, Goochland County, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Rooks Rinaldi, his children, Bruce Rinaldi (Mary), Michele Wilson, Janette Morgan (Ken), Tina Lannon (Wayne) and the mother of his children, Helen Rinaldi.
