Michael Catrambone was born at 7th and Catherine Streets in South Philly, PA. on May 8, 1923. In 1928 he moved with his parents, Giuseppe Catrambone (born 1890 in Italy) and his mother Elizabeth Josephine Madonna (born 1904 in PA.) to Lancaster, PA. Twelve years later he graduated from Scotland School, Scotland, PA.

Mike enlisted August 16, 1943 in Harrisburg, PA. and served with the 83rd Infantry Division in Europe and fought all five campaigns. Bronze Star Bihain, Belgium 1944.
When he came home from the war he lived for ten years in Lancaster, PA., with his wife Bernardine Wilcox and their six children, before moving to Southern California. His wife passed away February 28, 2000 and in 2001 he moved back to Pennsylvania.
