Roger E. Dumont was born on october 28, 1925 to George and Blanche (Caron) Dumont. He had a Grammar school education and his civilian occupation was listed as "Semiskilled chauffeurs and drivers, bus, taxi, truck, and tractor". Roger Dumont enlisted (#31400818) the service on January 28, 1944 in Portland, Maine. He fought with the 83rd Infantry Division, G Company, 329th Infantry Regiment in The Battle of the Bulge and was wounded at Le Petit Langlir, Belgium.
After the war, he worked for many years as a Sales Representative for Metropolitan Life. Roger was united in marriage on May 15, 1954, to Cecile F. Mathieu of Lewiston, Maine. He loved and cherished going to his 83rd Division reunions, spending time with all his "buddies."
Roger E. Dumont, 90, faithful husband, loving father and grandfather, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015.
The very nice group of photos below are reprints from Roger's original Wartime photos he send to me after I met him at the 83rd Reunion in 2011, in West Point, New York.
