Emery H. Farman was born on August 27, 1916, in Calaveras County, California, to Emery H. Farman (1880-1917) and Lucy Garses (1886-1970). He lived in Jamestown, California when he enlisted (#39423025) on August 15, 1944 in San Francisco, California. At that time he had a Grammar school education, his  civil occupation was listed as "Skilled Miners, and mining-machine operators".

Emery H. Farman died on September 23, 1957, at age 41 and is buried at the Mountain Shadow Cemetery, Sonora, Tuolumne County, California.
