John Brooks

On my US trip in August 2012, I had the honor to meet John Brooks, a veteran of the Underwater Demolition Team (UDT) that assisted in the clearing of the obstacles at Normandy during Operation Overlord. Later they went to the Pacific to help in the landings there. While on his ship John saw the explosion of one of the atomic bombs.
