Bilan V1 - V2

This very rare publication 'Bilan V1-V2' is a fold-out plan published by Ministerie van Landsverdediging (Department of National Defense) on June 21, 1945 and printed by the Internationaal Propaganda Kantoor N.V. Antwerpen (International Propaganda Office, Inc., Antwerp).

The folder has an 'ex libris' -a bookplate- on the inside (photo 2) belonging to Dr. Herman Eyskens (1925-2014). The ex libris features an image of the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp and Hippocrates, a Greek physician considered 'the father of Western medicine'. The Latin motto 'Non Vi sed Arte' means 'Not by force, but by art'. Doc. Med. is the abbreviation for 'Doctor Medicinae' which is Latin for 'Doctor of Medicine'.

De uiterst zeldzame uitgave 'Bilan V1-V2' is een uitvouwbare kaart die op 21 juni 1945 door het Ministerie van Landsverdediging is uitgegeven en gedrukt door het Internationaal Propaganda Kantoor N.V. in Antwerpen.

De map bevat aan de binnenkant een 'ex libris' – een boekplaatje – (foto 2) dat toebehoorde aan dr. Herman Eyskens (1925-2014). Op het ex libris staan een afbeelding van de Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal in Antwerpen en Hippocrates, een Griekse arts die wordt beschouwd als 'de vader van de westerse geneeskunde'. Het Latijnse motto 'Non Vi sed Arte' betekent 'Niet door geweld, maar door kunst'. Doc. Med. is de afkorting van 'Doctor Medicinae', wat Latijn is voor 'Docter in de Geneeskunde'.
