Home Front souvenir, Hq Battery, 405th AAA Gn Bn

Identified to John S. Meekins #33238268

This is a 1940's gag gift of Tom and Paul the Pott Brothers. It is a Home Front souvenir from Gallatan, Tennessee. Inside are both of the brothers portraits. The only difference is their heads Tom has a 'Tea Pott' instead of his head and Paul has a 'Pee Pott' instead of his head.

John Sheetz Meekins was born on December 11, 1920, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to Mary V. (Burkholder) Sheetz and William J. 'Bill' Meekins.

John S. Meekins enlisted (#33238268) on August 14, 1942, in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. After completed basic training John Meekins was assigned to Hq Battery, 405th AAA Gun Battalion. Meekins served for three years, two of which were spent in the European Theatre of Operations with 405h AAA AW Gun Battalion. As a member of this unit, he took part in Operation Antwerp X. His unit departed ........

John S. Meekins was married with Harriet Kern (1907-1999). He died on September 4, 1977 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, when he was 56 years old. He was survived by his wife Harriet Meekins.
