Corp. Samuel A. Hamilton - Hq Company, 331st Infantry Regiment
The items featured here are a nice original WWI soldier medal grouping in very good condition. The grouping contains a World War One Victory Medal with "France" bar and a Warren County Ohio Service Medal. Both Medals were given to Samuel A. Hamilton, who served with HQ Company, 331st Infantry Regiment of the 83rd Division.

Samuel A. Hamilton was born on April 1, 1894 in Apollo, Pennsylvania. At 23 years and 5 months old at he entered the service with the National Army (#1943389) on September 21, 1917 in Warren, Ohio, the state of the 83rd Division. He went overseas with the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) from June 3, 1918 until January 26, 1919. He was promoted to the rank of Private first Class on February 23, 1918 finally achieved the rank of Corporal on August 4, 1918. Samuel Hamilton was assigned to Headquarters Company of the 331st Infantry Regiment, 83rd Division for the duration of his military service and was honorably discharged on February 8, 1919. After World War One, he married Augusta Bessie Burr and together they lived in Ohio until he passed away on June 8, 1974.
