Medical Pillow Sham Camp Sherman

This is a very nice First World War Pillow Sham, a beautiful example of a First World War patriotic home front artwork. The front side is constructed of yellow and purple colored silk and the border is made of felt. The construction is oriented in that of a diamond with a 48-star American flag at the top point. In the center reads 'U.S.' in red, white and blue and has the insignia of the US Medical Department. At the lower part of the diamond reads 'Camp Sherman', home to two divisions of the Army, the 83rd Division and the 95th Division.
