Col. Sgt. Charles W. Seiberling Jr.

Charles Willard Seiberling was born on October 14, 1896, in Akron, Ohio, as the oldest son of Goodyear co-founder Charles W. Seiberling Sr. (1861-1946) and Blanche Carnahane Seiberling (1873-1932).

Charles W. Seiberling Jr. (#1947120) enlisted into the Regular Army on March 23, 1918 in Camp Sherman, Ohio and was assigned to Headquarters Company of the 332nd Infantry until discharge. He served overseas from June 8, 1918 until April 14, 1919. He became the rank of Color Sergeant and saw action in the battle of Vittorio-Veneto. He left Italy from Genoa on March 29, 1919, Arrived in the US on April 14, 1919 and was Honorable Discharge on May 5, 1919.

Charles Willard Seiberling Jr. married Cecile Jacoba Berlage (1900-1974) on June 19, 1920, when he was 23 years old. He died on March 5, 1928 as a result of injuries received during the War.
