Daniel Edward Kelleher was born on June 27, 1888, in Lowell, Massachusetts, to Anna M. Casey (1866-), born in Ireland, and Cornelius Kelleher (1864-....) born in Kilgarvan, Kerry, Ireland.
He married Ina Snyder on June 22, 1917.

Daniel E. Kelleher (#1950025) enlisted in the Army on November 4, 1917 in Akron, Ohio and was assigned to Headquarters Company 332nd Infantry to Discharge. He became a Sergeant on November 23, 1917 and and Fist Sergeant on November 1, 1918. He saw action in the battle of Vittorio-Veneto Defensive Sector, Italy. He was slightly WIA in the Stokes Trench Mortar training accident on September 13, 1918 in the Borghetto training area, Valeggio sul Mincio, Italy. He was with the American Expeditionary Forces from June 8, 1918 to April 14, 1919 and Honorable Discharge on May 5, 1919.
