Jacob Joseph Bottlander was born on June 1, 1890 in Ford City, Pennsylvania

Jacob J. Bottlander (#2427872) enlisted in the Army on April 2, 1918 in Toledo, Ohio and was assigned to 158th Depot Brigade to April 21, 1918 based in Camp Sherman, Chillicothe, Ohio. Transferred to F Co. 332nd Infantry to June 22, 1918 an to Headquarters Company 332nd Infantry to Discharge. He became a Musician Third Class on July 20, 1918 and and saw action in the battle of Vittorio-Veneto Defensive Sector, Italy. He was with the American Expeditionary Forces from June 8, 1918 to April 14, 1919 and Honorable Discharge on May 5, 1919.
