Daniel S. 'Dan' Keller was one of the early members of Anti-Tank Company, he is listed on the Anti-Tank Company Christmas menu and roster of 1942 in Camp Atterbury, Indiana. So he was with them at basic training in Camp Atterbury, then went to the Tennessee maneuvers and to Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky. Early April, 1944 Anti-Tank Company was stationed at Camp Shanks from where they left the US. They headed for Europe and arrived in Liverpool on April 16 from where they left for Wales by train. The unit boarded on July 19, 1944 for France but due to heavy weather it took them 5 days to arrive at Omaha Beach. He stayed with Anti-Tank Company, 2nd Platoon, 3rd Squad Leader, for the entirety of the war. For his service he was awarded, among other decorations, the Combat Infantryman's Badge.
