Original censored WWII Army Covers. The envelopes were sent by S/Sgt. Joe Roy, 31154121, to his sweetheart Miss, Yvette Coté, Barton Hall, Washington D.C. The address the envelope was sent from was APO #83 which was in England on this dates.

Joseph Donald Roy was born on March 23, 1921 in Winslow, Maine as the first child of Odilon and Rose (Bousseau) Roy.

Joseph "Joe" Roy enlisted (#31154121) on October 13, 1942 in Portland, Kennebec County, Maine. The Morning Report from July 10, 1944 listed Joseph Roy as being send to a Rest Center for an unspecified time. Later during the same month, on July 20, he was appointed Tech Sgt.

After arriving back home in the US, Joseph Roy married Yvette M. Cote on July 12, 1945. Joseph Roy died on December 13, 1986 and is buried together with his wife Yvette (1920-2004) at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta, Maine.
