Technical Sergeant Lawrence E. Ousley

Lawrence Earl Ousley was born on January 11, 1919, in Union, Tennessee, to Lallie Lou Myrtle Longmire (1887–1958) and Dr. Jacob Milus Ousley (1883–1965). He had three brothers and three sisters.

Lawrence E. Ousley enlisted (#34377310) in the Army on October 14, 1942 at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia and was send to Camp Atterbury and assigned to the Infantry. After take part in the Tennessee Maneuvers, he was send to Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky. Overseas he served with Company C of the 330th Infantry Regiment. The Morning Report from July 17, 1944, lists Lawrence Ousley as appointed S/Sgt. as of July 15 and MR of July 21, appointed to T/Sgt. The Morning Report of July 25 lists duty to SWA (Seriously Wounded in Action) to dropped from assignment to transferred to the 107th Evacuation Hospital. The Company was in the vicinity of Remilly sur Luzon, France, at that time. For his service he was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Purple Heart Medal, the European African Middle-Eastern Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal

Lawrence E. Ousley died on March 11, 1969, in Maryville, Tennessee, when he was 50 years old.
