Envelope identified to Samuel J. Dickey Jr. - M Company, 329th Infantry Regiment

Original post WWII Army envelope dated June 16, 1945. The envelop was sent by Pfc. Samuel J. Dickey Jr. #34796441, to the Commodore Perry Lodge, Buffalo, New York. The address the envelope was sent from was APO #83 which was somewhere in Occupied Germany on this date.

Private First Class Samuel J. Dickey

Samuel John Dickey Jr. was born on June 6, 1923 in Williamsville, New York. He was raised in Tampa and graduated from Hillsborough High School.

Samuel J. Dickey enlisted (#34796441) on November 16, 1943 in Camp Blanding, Florida. He was among the Troops to land on the beaches in Normandy, June 1944. During World War Two, he was a member of K and M Company, 329th Infantry Regiment. The Morning Reports from August 30, 1944, listed him as assigned and joined from K Company to M Company.

 

 

After his service to his country, he served his employer, Tampa Drug Company, which became Allen Drug Company, which became a part of Bergen Brunswig, for over 50 years. He served pharmacies and hospital pharmacies throughout the Tampa Bay area faithfully. Samuel Dickey married Ruth Colleen Casey in may 1948. They where divorced in 1963. He married his second wife Rose Marie Miller (Rucker) in November 1966.

Samuel J. Dickey, 95, of Tampa, passed away on June 25, 2018. He has left behind the love of his life and bride of many years Rose Marie Dickey (1935-).
