Private Virgil L. Bradshaw

Virgil Lee Bradshaw was born on February 2, 1915 in Kentucky, named to his single mother Grace Bradshaw (1897-1983). Virgil spent his childhood at his grandparents, John (1856-1935) and Mary (Misemer) Bradshaw (1855-1942).

Virgil L. Bradshaw lived in Lake City (Coal Creek before 1936), Anderson County, Tennessee, when he entered the service (#14077875) on January 6, 1942 at Fort Oglethorpe Georgia, Tennessee. His marital status at that time was 'Divorced'. Virgil Bradshaw was assigned to the 324th Field Artillery Battalion, 83rd Infantry Division, November 1942 at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. He discharged as a Technician 5th Grade (T/5).

Virgil L. Bradshaw Sr. died at age 63, on July 5, 1978 and is burried at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger, Kenton County, Kentucky. At that time, he was, as far as I know, suvived by two siblings, Jeffrey W. Bradshaw (1950-1981) and Virgil L. Bradshaw Jr. (1955-1991).
