Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. The address the envelope was sent from was APO #83 which was still in the USA this date. The second letter, with bicolored border envelope, was dated June 25, 1944 and was sent by Pfc. Wlm. H. Mac Mullen to A/S Raymond Johnson U.S.N.R. (United States Navy Reserve), N.C.T.P. Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. The address the letter was sent from was APO #83 which was in France on this date.

Private First Class William H. MacMullen

William Holt MacMullen was born on December 25, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York, to Annie Laurie Holt (1897–1985) and Ross Albert MacMullen (1893–1963).

William Holt MacMullen enlisted in the Army (#32999221) on August 16, 1943, in New York City, New York. During World War II, he proudly served his country as a member of the C Company, 329th Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division in the European Theatre. The Morning Report of July 12, 1944 listed William MacMullem as LWA while his unit was fighting in the vicinity of Sainteny, France.

After the war, William H. Mac Mullen married Mary Louise Metz on December 6, 1948. They had three children during their marriage. He died on June 11, 1997, in Frederick, Maryland.
