Pillow cover identified to Pvt. Ephrem A. Lavallee

During World War II, one of the most popular souvenirs sold to the troops were fancy satin pillow covers. This is a silk color illustrated souvenir pillow cover from Pvt. Ephrem La Vallee (Lavallee) who was serving in Battery B, 908th Field Artillery Battalion, 83rd Infantry Division, to be presented to his sister.

Ephrem A. Lavallee was born on July 2, 1902 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Arzilia Brouillette and Ephrem Lavallee, his Canadian born parents.

Ephrem A. Lavallee enlisted (#31213150) in the Army on November 5, 1942, in Springfield, Massachusetts. He ended up serving with Battery B of the 908th Field Artillery Battalion of the 83rd Infantry Division.

Ephrem A. Lavallee died on November 29, 1984.
