Photo Album identified to S/Sgt. P. A. Older

This identified photograph album Measures 12" x 7.75" and contains 20 pages with each have a tissue page protector. There are no photographs with this book, the book is unused and has never had any photographs attached. Nevertheless there are no pictures in the book, it remains a great item in my 83rd collection. The album is held together with a cord and the soldier name and unit are on the front page in gold gilt letters.

This photo album once belong to S/Sgt. P. A. Older (#36455154) who was a member of Headquarters, Company D, 1st Battalion of the 331st Inf. Reg.

Staff Sergeant Allen P. Older

Allen Paul Older was born on April 17, 1917, in Michigan to Katherine Muriel "Katie" Cantwell (1879-1929) and John Charles Older (1872-1963). He married Mary Louise Stickley on November 10, 1939. They had one child during their marriage, Thomas Allen Older (1951–1979).

He lived in Lake City, Missaukee County, Michigan until he entered the service as a draftee on March 6, 1943 at Kalamazoo, Michigan. He joined his unit, D Company of the 331st Infantry Regiment on July 15, 1944 through the 48th Replacemnt Battalion as mentioned in the Morning Report of July 16, 1944. The Morning Report of August 16, 1944 mentions his promotion from T/5 to T/4 as of August 8, 1944. For his service he was awarded, among other decorations, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the European African Middle-Eastern Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Allen Paul Older died on August 14, 1982, in Cadillac, Michigan, when he was 65 years old. He was survived by his wife Mary Louise Older (1921-2001).
