Items related to the Tennessee Maneuvers of 1943

The 83rd Infantry trained throughout 1942 and participated in the Tennessee Maneuvers from June 22, 1943 to September 10, 1943 when the division was assigned to Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky.

At the Post Exchange (PX) or in any cheap shop near the posts, GI's could buy any kind of trinket and souvenirs, bearing their branche of service, unit insignia or the name of their post. These gifts were usually mailed to relatives, friends, ..., or brought home on furlough. All these items were available to the GI's of the 83rd Infantry Division as well to GI's of other divisions stationed in the Camps, etc.
