WW2 Officer service jacket

Unidentified - 83rd Infantry Division

This is a nice unnamed 83rd Infantry officer's service coat. The jacket still has the original sewn-on insignia including the 83rd Infantry Division patch on the left shoulder and a beautiful bullion set of three overseas stripes on the lower left sleeve. No other insignia were present to indicate which rank this officer held. On the collar a clear ghost was visible of US and Medical corps devices. An original matching set was added. Inside the coat is written the laundry number M-0757, so far I have not been able to match this with an officer who served in the 83rd Infantry Division.
