Private First Class Claude E. Wegley

Claude Emerson Wegley was born on November 29, 1910, in New Lebanon, Ohio, to Ida L. Lambert (1880–1968) and Franklin Edward Wegley (1875–1946). Claude Wegley married Martha J. Kreitzer in 1937 when he was 27 years old.

On January 31, 1944, Claude Wegley enlisted into the Army in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Morning Reports from January 29, 1945 listed him as assigned and joined G/331 from the 92nd Replacement Depot, just after the end of the Battle of the Bulge. The Morning Reports from April 1, 1945 listed him as promoted from Private to Private First Class. For his service he was awarded, among other decorations, the Combat Infantryman's Badge

Claude Emerson Wegley died on May 2, 1993, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio, when he was 82 years old, he was survived by his wife Martha (1914–2003).
