329th Buckshot Unit History

The youngest of three children, two daughters and a son, Emery Hartwell Farman was born on Augustus 27, 1916, in Calaveras, California to Lucy Garses (1886–1970) and Emery Hartwell Farman (1880-1917). His father died (August 15, 1917) less than a year after his birth and his mother remarried quickly, leaving Emery neglected. As he got older, he lived with and was cared for by his Aunt Linda Curtis.

He was lived with his aunt and uncle when Emery Farman enlisted on August 15, 1944 in San Francisco, California. The Morning Report from January 29, 1945 listed him as assigned en joined AT/329 from the 92nd Replacement Battalion on January 28, 1945. Anti-Tank Company of the 329th Regiment was in the vicinty of Sy, Belgium at that time. For his service he was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the European African Middle-Eastern Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Emery H. Farman died on September 23, 1957, at age 41 and is buried at the Mountain Shadow Cemetery, Sonora, Tuolumne County, California.
