Frank Bunk was born on April 4, 1919 in Portage, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Matthew Bak and Annie Labuda (Poland).

He joined the army on October 15, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio. For his service he was awarded, among other decorations, the Combat Infantryman's Badgeand the Good Conduct Medal.

Frank Bunk married Jean Karras on May 30, 1946. He passed away on December 5, 1993 and was survived by his wife Jean (1918-1996).
