Corporal Ingolf H. Jorgensen

Ingolf Herleif Jorgensen was born on May 22, 1905, in Marstal, Denmark, as the son of Matthew Jorgensen, a retired sea Captain on the Isle of Fyn, Denmark. Ingolf Jorgensen came to America in 1926 to study agriculture and became a US citizen in 1932. On November 27, 1940, he married Alfhild Marie Schwensen from Oslo, Norway.

Ingolf H. Jorgensen (#36703111) served in the European Theatre of Operations (ETO) with the 83rd Infantry Division, Divisional Headquarters Company. The Morning Reports of March 12, 1945 listed him as attached to Army Information and Education Staff School, Paris, France as of March 9, 1945. He returned to duty from Army Information and Education Staff School, Paris, France on March 21, 1945 and transferred to 14th Ground Forces Replacement Command Den, Thionville, France as of July 20, 1945.
For his service in WWII he was awarded, among other decorations, the Combat Infantry Badge.
