Major Joseph M. Alexander

Joseph Morris Alexander was born on October 24, 1902 in New York, NY. He married Ruth Sindelar Ostrander on January 2, 1942.

Joseph M. Alexander served in the US Army, 83rd Infantry Division during World War Two. He combined 41 years of service in the National Guard, the US Army and the Army Reserve and retired as a Colonel. For his service in WWII he was awarded, among other decorations, the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star Medal.

Joseph M. Alexander of Fort Lauderdale and formerly of Scarsdale, New York, passed away on May 21, 1983 and is buried at the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia. He was preceded by his wife Ruth I. Alexander (1904-1978).
