Marvin Earl Allen was born on December 25, 1921 in Aynor, South Carolina, Lena Doyle (1893–1960) and James Eddie Allen (1890–1980).
Marvin E. Allen enlisted on October 8, 1942 in Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina. Marvin took some of his training at Camp Atterbury, Indiana before going to the European Theatre of Operations (ETO) and was a Pfc. in the 83rd Infantry Division, 331st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion, H Company (Heavy Weapons). While serving in Europe, Marvin was wounded in action (WIA) and lost to Hospital in Normandy, France (1944). Morning Report of July 17, 1944 lists Allen, Marvin E. as of 16 July 1944 from LWA to transfered to 128th Evacuation Hospital in Normandy. For his service he was awarded, among other decorations, the Combat Infantryman's Badge.
Marvin Earl Allen died in a car accident on January 3, 1956, in Georgetown, South Carolina, at the age of 35 and is buried at Southern Methodist Church Cemetery, Cool Springs, South Carolina.
