Technician 4th Grade Phillip J. June
Phillip Joseph June was born on September 22, 1910 in West Lebanon, Young Township, Pennsylvania, to Leonarda Muscara (1891-1967) and Joseph (Giuseppe) June (Di Giugno) (1888-1958). His Italian born father worked as a miner. His Italian born mother brought up the couple's five son's. Phillip J. June married Dolores Marie Beck on October 9, 1942.
Short afther his mariage, he enlisted on October 29, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio, and served in the US Army, 83rd Infantry Division during World War Two. The Morning Reports listed him as assigned and joined from Band, 83rd Infantry Division and transferred to Divisional HQ Company, 83rd Infantry Division as of March 20, 1945. For his service in WWII he was awarded, among other decorations, the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star Medal.
His wife Dolores Marie passed away on April 25, 1996, in Cleveland, Ohio, at the age of 75. They had been married 53 years. Joseph June died on August 2, 2008, in East Peoria, Illinois.
