Sergeant Wilbur M. Glynn

Wilbur Monroe Glynn was born on October 5, 1918 in Vassar, Michigan to Henry W. Glynn (1868–1956) and Rosannah Peer (1886–1958).

He enlisted (#36107054) on March 21, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan. Wilbur Glynn married Lavina Mae Harvey on January 9, 1943 in Millington, Michigan. The Morning Report of Company G, 331st Infantry Regiment from August 15, 1944 lists Glynn as assigned and joined from the 53th replacement Battalion. At that time, Company G was in the vicinity of Dinard, Brittany, France. Sgt. Wilbur Glynn was wounded in action on December 15, 1944 while Company G was engaged in the vicinity of Berzbuir, Hurtgen Forest, Germany. For his service he was awarded, among other decorations, the Combat Infantryman's Badge and the Purple Heart Medal.

Wilbur Monroe Glynn, 87, died Thursday, September 28, 2006, at Rose Tara Plantation In King, North Carolina. In addition to his wife of 63 years, Lavina Mae Glynn (1921-2021).
