Wilson Wister Johnson was born on August 21, 1909 in Williamston, South Carolina, to Leah Wishbow and Sydney Goldstein. Bernard Goldstein married Ruth Hammerman.

Wilson W. Johnson enlisted on August 4, 1943 in Camp Croft, South Carolina. The Morning Report from September 23, 1944 listed Johnson Wilson W. as assigned to AT/329 from I/329. Anti-Tank Company of the 329th Regiment was in the vicinty of Orleans, central France at that time. For his service he was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the European African Middle-Eastern Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Wilson W. Johnson died on July 17, 1982. He was survived by his wife Annie May (Crawford) Johnson (1910-1993).
