Anthony Neil Yannarell was born on April 11, 1922, in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, to Mary Lavigna (1901-1993) and Rocco M. Yannarell (1898-1970), both off Polish origin. His father Rocco was a postman and his mother Mary, brought up the couple's three childeren as a houswife. He had a high school education for four years. He lived in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania until he enlisted (#13127376) on October 13, 1942. Anthony took some of his training at Camp Forrest, Tullahoma, Tennessee and at Camp Phillips, Salina, Kansas before going to the European Theatre of Operations (ETO). He was a Private First Class with the 80th Infantry Division to which he was assigned October 17, 1942. As a Pfc with the 80th Division, Yannarell took part in the four Blue Ridge Division Campaigns in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace and Central Europe. He also recieved the Purple Heart. Pfc. Anthony Neil Yannarell married Miss Frances M. Pavlick on May 20, 1944.

Anthony N. Yannarell lived in Hazleton, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania when he died on December 27, 2003 and is buried at Most Precious Blood Cemetery, Hazleton, Pennsylvania. He was survived by his wife Frances Yannarell (1918-2014).
