Norman McDowell Nutter was born on August 12, 1916, in Princess Anne, Maryland, to Bertha Elizabeth Fisher (1893-1934) and Ernest Orin Nutter (1887-1937). Norman M. Nutter married Rowena Elizabeth Arbogast on May 2, 1941, when he was 24 years old. He lived in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania until he enlisted on APRIL 6, 1944 (#33931651). He was assigned to the 78th Infantry Division in September 1944. As a T/5 with the Lightning Division, Norman Nutter earned 3 Battle Stars.
Norman M. Nutter died on May 12, 1994 of respiratory failure in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Maryland. He was survived by his wife Ruth E. Nutter (1920-2007).
